Personal Training Testimony .... When I first started with
Diesel Fitness I was coming for nutrition counseling only.
If there was ever someone who had a reason to not work out, I
thought it was me. I had every excuse and each one was real, in my
mind: I have my own business, traveled 3 days out of every week, two
kids at home, and a husband who, at the time was traveling 3- 4 days
a week for his work.
I didn’t have time to work out!
That was excuse number 1.
Excuse number 2 was that I was in chronic long term pain.
I’ve had migraine headaches since I was 4 years old – on a weekly
basis over the last 10 years, and chronic neck pain since I was 15.
Both of these things were limiting me in my life, with my family, my
career, my activity level, and my attitude stunk!
When I walked into Diesel fitness I was a mess!
My body fat was around 41%.
I was taking 5-8 pain pills per day, so I could continue working.
In spite of the pain medications there were times when I couldn’t
function because of the pain level.
I was starting to become depressed.
Last November I made a commitment to start personal training with
April Mack. Something that, at that time, I thought I couldn’t do,
and didn’t want to do.
Through this commitment, I’ve learned how much I love working out!
The greatest thing is being pain FREE!
I’ve seen my strength increase consistently, and watched as I’ve
dropped inches.
Now I am so active, I love to work out and am continuing to push
myself to try new classes and activities. It’s so much fun, and I
feel amazing!
My results so far:
*I believe in myself again, and know that I am capable of doing
anything I put my mind too – with the right attitude.
*I am completely off pain medication, and have not had any migraines
for the last 3 months.
*I’ve been on thyroid medication for 20 years, and that prescription
has been cut down to less than ½ of what it was 9 months ago. My
goal is to get completely off this medication.
*I am a size 4/6; my body fat is about 23% - a significant
improvement from 41%.
*I’ve lost a total of 15 + inches
*I’ve lost a shoe size
*I had to have my wedding ring sized down more than 1 full size.
I recommend and believe in personal training. Wouldn’t you agree
that everyone does better if they have someone pushing them just a
little further than they thought they could ever go?

Do I like the gym?
..... Oh, heck yeah! I like to start my day at the gym where you are
happily greeted at the door.
The staff is helpful, informed and fun to be around. The atmosphere
is very relaxed and the classes are
wonderful and really get me moving. The instructors are
knowledgeable and fun and I definitely get a great
workout! I’ve made a lot of friends at Diesel Fitness and it’s great
to be able to work out so close to home.

The people are friendly, the atmosphere is comfortable and they

variety of different classes. April and her staff are always willing
to help in anyway they can.

For over a year ... a friend
of mine (Mel Counts) kept asking me to come to Diesel Fitness and
work out. I had my
own treadmill and weights at home; why should I go to the gym?
I had no idea how much fun I was missing! I met people I would have
never known. I have workout buddies that
keep me on track and encourage me to do better. I hear a new joke at
least once a week. I know who’s a Duck
and who’s a Beaver. I can’t imagine starting my day without my
friends at Diesel Fitness. Diesel Fitness is a
GREAT health habit!

I joined Diesel Fitness last spring ....
desperately needing to change an unhealthy life style that I had
created for
myself. With the help of truly amazing people, I am reaching my
goals. Through the nutritional guidance, and
strength training I have received; I have more energy, motivation,
and I am a healthier person. I still have a lot
of work ahead of me, and with the encouragement I receive here every
day is enough to keep me on track! At

It has been almost three weeks since my
total knee replacement surgery .... and I wanted to take the
time to tell you
how much I appreciate and have been supported by my SilverSneakers®
classes. It has been three years since
my husband talked me into joining him at Diesel gym in Woodburn. I
cannot imagine how people must behave
during such a recovery without the strength, weight bearing and
balance training that I have received in our
classes from Michelle and Jill. I am not the person I was three
years ago and that is directly because of their
classes and offering them. All my visitors have heard me rave about
my appreciation and the PTs and hospital
staff have all commented on what shape I am in for my age and how I
am able to assist them in assisting me. I
wish that there were more ways of reaching those who fail to take
advantage of the program. I hate to say too
bad, their loss. I shall continue to praise my success through your
program (SilverSneakers®) and am
enthusiastically grateful for SilverSneakers®. Hope to be back there
soon.
